Hey Parents,
We are so happy to have all our kids back. We love seeing their smiling faces enter our doors. It brings us such joy to see them happy and ready to learn. So I hope yall had a wonderful break enjoying time with family and friends.
I have a few things that I need to share with yall:
PARENT TRAINING- The training we are providing this Thursday (1/5) at 6-7 will be covering social, behavior, and language components. Ms. Beverly and Ms, Tammy will be here to provide child care for PPCD students only. I am sorry but siblings are not allowed (we need to be safety conscious). Please let me know if you will be in attendance! We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experiences with yall.
SNACK Schedule- I have added the snack schedule below. Each child's name is on the list, but if you are unable to bring snacks, PLEASE let me know so I can remove your name from the list. I will also keep the schedule updated in weekly emails I send. Feel free to send in your snack anytime before the Monday you are scheduled. Our class has adopted BPE’s healthy snack challenge, so below is a list of healthy snack ideas: Fresh Fruit- grapes, bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries. Crackers- Cheeze-Its, Wheat Thins, Tricuits, Goldfish, peanut butter / cheese crackers. Cheese- String cheese or sliced cheese.Yogurt- Gogurt is a great because it is quick and easy and no spoon needed. Granola- by itself of mixed with nuts/berries/yogurt, etc.*NOTE: Please avoid foods high in fruticose corn syrup or sugar like cookies, candy, fruit snacks, and sweet cereal.
NEEDED: Materials we need in our classroom are waterpaint colors. The Crayola brand is great. Anything that has the 8 basic colors. I attached a picture of what we are looking for. We also need shaving cream. The kids love to play with it on the tables. Its a fun sensory activity! We write letters in the cream, numbers, draw, and just play in it ( with aprons on).
ASSESSMENT: When the children come to small group, I will be assessing the children's knowledge on Pre-K skills. For example: letter recognition, number recognition, 1-1 counting, sorting, etc. I will be probing their knowledge on this material three times a year. The results from the assessment will help me to know what areas to focus on in the classroom. This is meant to be a resource for us for the classroom. Here is the spreadsheet I am using to document their data.
